National Banana Lover’s Day!

  August 28, 2013  |    Blog>Recipes

In honor of National Banana Lover’s Day yesterday, we invite you to come celebrate bananas with us! Who doesn’t love bananas?! They mix so well with everything and are a great on the go snack any day of the week.

Bananas are only 110 calories– and as most people know they are loaded with potassium. They are also a great source of vitamin C, vitamin B6 and fiber, so they are a nutrient packed bonanza–or shall we say banana?! 🙂

Note: You may have heard that bananas are fattening. They are NOT. However, they have gotten this reputation because they tend to have more calories than other fruits. Also, large bananas are often equivalent in calories to two pieces of most other fruits. So stick to a small banana and you’ll know you’re eating closer to 110 calories rather than closer to 210 calories.

In honor of this healthy and special day, we wanted to share a simple and tasty banana smoothie of our own. Enjoy!
