It’s National Oatmeal Day—what better time to come in from the cooler weather and kick back with a bowl of oatmeal!

With just 1, fiber-packed half cup serving, oatmeal makes you feel full longer so you are not craving a little something extra soon after breakfast. Plus, it’s low in fat, so it’s heart- healthy and a great way to start your morning!

Try this delish and easy oatmeal recipe! Our intern Rachael loves to whip this up at least once or twice a week!

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Oatmeal

Serves: 2 – ½ cup servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  • In a microwave- safe bowl, combine oats and water. Place in microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.
  • Add brown sugar and cinnamon to cooked oatmeal. Stir thoroughly to make an even mixture.
  • Enjoy!!
