White Balsamic Brussels sprouts with Pear and Walnuts

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 c. Brussels sprouts

1/4 pear

1.5 T. white balsamic

1 t. olive oil

1 T. Walnuts, loosely chopped

pepper (optional)

Directions

Place 1/2 c. water into a bowl and add Brussels sprouts. Microwave Brussels sprouts for 4-6  minutes until slightly tender.  Test your microwave by checking on the sprouts after 4 minutes to see if they are ready as microwave cooking times vary. Meanwhile, chop pear into cubes. Once Brussels sprouts are done cooking, rinse them under cold water to allow them to cool. Once cool, cut each sprout in half. Place frying pan on the stove and add olive oil. Once oil is spread throughout the entire pan, add Brussels sprouts and chopped pears. After Brussels sprouts start to brown (about 4 minutes), add white balsamic vinegar. Coat all Brussels sprouts in balsamic vinegar and allow them to cook for about 4 more minutes. Place 1 serving on a plate and add walnuts and pepper, if you desire! Enjoy!!
