Ingredients
  • 10 plum tomatoes
  • 1 c. red wine
  • 3 T. basil, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 T. garlic
  • ½ T. Ground pepper
  • Dash of salt
Instructions
  1. First, slice the tomatoes into chunks (the bigger the chunks, the more chunkier your sauce will be at the end and vice versa). Next, place the tomatoes, basil, onion, garlic, and red wine into the crock pot (or pot). Add a dash of salt and some ground pepper, and stir with a wooden spoon. Turn the crock pot on low and allow the sauce to simmer for 8-10 hours. (If using a pot, allow the pot to simmer on low- medium heat until tomatoes are plump and the consistency has become sauce-like.) Stir occasionally throughout the day to prevent build up on the sides. When you are ready to serve, add a dash of salt to taste and use a ladle to spoon out the sauce.
