Strawberry Almond Milk

Recipe type: Beverage

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sliced ripe strawberries
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups unsweetened almond milk
Instructions
  1. Add the sliced strawberries, water, and vanilla to a pot and bring the mixture to a boil. Boil for around 10 minutes until the strawberries have started to break down and the water has turned a red color.
  2. Pulverize the mixture in a blender. (If you want a super-smooth drink, then strain through a cheesecloth to remove the seeds, however this isn’t necessary and for us, between the boiling and the blending this was smooth enough for our tastes).
  3. Chill the syrupy mixture in the fridge for around 20 minutes, to make it thicker and to bring down the temperature.
  4. Add 3 tbsp of the syrup to 1 cup (8 oz) of the unsweetened almond milk, stir, and enjoy!
