Skinny Orange-Mangorita

  February 23, 2014  |    Blog>Recipes

When we were growing up orange juice was the one and only juice we had in our house.  And every time someone in the family was sick, our family medicine was basically that orange juice! Yup, if you had the flu in our healthy house you’d be “cured” by the time you woke up in the morning as long as you ingested lots of OJ! And we mean lots–we both remember our parents filling one glass after another for us to drink!

Hmmm, we’re a bit suspicious about this remedy ourselves, but it oddly enough seemed to work–and flus were short-lived in our house! Maybe it was all that vitamin C?! Or just the fact that we felt so uncomfy and full, we forgot about feeling sick! 🙂

And now as registered dietitians and personal trainers we’re also all about scrumptious food with a healthy twist—that also helps you to live longer and feel great in your clothes! So living in New York City, the home of socializing at all hours, we’ve had quite a few requests for some skinnier cocktails  (like our Green Goddess Sangria, our Fruity Tooty Spritzer and our Cranberry Sparkle Spritzer ) and we figure, why not make it skinny and healthier–to help you combat some of the partying–and boost your immunity in the process?! You’ve asked for a skinny cocktail–and here you go, one that’s not only a super-delish one for ONLY 93 calories!  But also one that’s got some immune-boosting OJ! Oh yeah!  Stick to one and call it a super-successful and skinny night :).  Enjoy!
