Happy Cinco de Mayo! Many of the staples for Cinco de Mayo, such as margaritas, nachos, guacamole, and fajitas are packed full of saturated fat and unhealthy calories that weigh you down and zap your energy. Keep your energy level high all day by opting for healthier options – nachos made with low fat cheese, guacamole by with just mashed up avocados and not added sour cream, and fajitas made with lean meats – such as grilled chicken breast and fish.

Here’s one of our favorite low calorie margarita recipes (as opposed to some frozen margaritas that can have up to 400 calories per glass!) that is light enough to keep your energy up so you can celebrate all night! And yes, you can indulge in a cocktail every now and then and still be healthy and keep your energy level high!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz high quality Tequilla
  • A splash of Grand Marnier
  • Juice of half a lime

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice. Enjoy!
