Berry Lemonade

Did you know that today is National Lemonade Day? We love a nice cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day, but many store-bought lemonade and lemonade mixes are packed with added sugar that cause an energy high followed by a crash.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe for a healthy and delicious lemonade that isn’t full of added sugar and won’t make you crash:

Berry Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup berries (we like to use blueberries or strawberries)
  • Juice of 5 large lemons
  • 1 qt club soda
  • Fresh mint sprigs

Directions:

  1. Combine berries and lemon juice in a blender.
  2. Add club soda.
  3. Pour into a glass and serve with fresh mint.

We also love to pour some of our lemonade into an ice tray and freeze it. This way we can use our lemonade ice cubes to keep our lemonade cool without watering down the flavor! Or we like to jazz up plain water with our lemonade ice cubes!
