Whole Wheat Banana Walnut Pancakes

Keep that breakfast train moving! Eating a healthy breakfast daily is key to having sustained energy throughout the day! A breakfast that consists of whole grains, fresh fruits, and protein is the perfect way to jump start your metabolism every morning AND keep you energized for whatever the day brings!

Whole Wheat Banana Walnut Pancakes

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large banana, very ripe, mashed
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of fat free milk
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil

Mix together all dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, cinnamon, walnuts) in one bowl. In another bowl, combine milk, egg whites, oil, vanilla, and mashed bananas until smooth. Mix wet and dry ingredients until evenly combined. Cook over a large skillet as you would to make any pancake, enjoy!

The whole recipe makes about 12 pancakes, with each serving of two pancakes being less than 150 calories! What a great way to start your day 🙂
