About Me: I’m a Dietetics/Nutrition major at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL

Favorite Healthy Food: Garlic! I add it to almost every meal I make.

Favorite healthy recipe: Portobello mushroom pizza. I saute onions, spinach, garlic, and tomatoes with a little olive oil and salt. I then add some lemon juice and toss in some fresh basil. Scoop the sauteed ingredients into the mushroom and top with grated cheese (usually Parmesan) and bake in the oven for about 10 min. It is SO good..and way better than greasy regular pizza!

How I Get My Energy: Plenty of sleep. A lot can be said for a full night’s rest! If a full 8 hours is just not possible and I’m needing an energy boost, I turn to protein-filled snacks. Apples with peanut butter, a hard-boiled egg, or 1/2 quesadilla made with black beans and salsa are just a few examples of my energy boosting snacks.

Favorite Way To Exercise: With my schedule of having a full-time job and being a full-time college student I often don’t have the time to spend in the gym, but I have learned to exercise as I find time. I like to do exercises that use your own body weight. I found that squats are my favorite, AND I can do them while studying!
